Mermaid outboards were generally powered by either Victa and Hurricane 125cc engines.

Advertisements suggest a Mermaid De Luxe may also have been developed at some stage and possibly not released. Artists impressions show the outboard with a cast aluminium drive/exhaust tube and streamlined cowl comprising inbuilt fuel tank and recoil starter.
